Breaking into the Seoul Metropolitan Investment Market with Drone Light Show Technology Utilizing Cheomseongdae, a Cultural Heritage Site in Gyeongju
View original imageThe Content Promotion Center of the Gyeongbuk Culture Foundation (Director Lee Jongsu) announced on November 26 that Rehigh Co., Ltd. (CEO Choo Hyesung), a participant in its corporate support program, has secured 2 billion won in Series A funding from the domestic venture capital firm Quantum Ventures Korea.
This is regarded as a case in which a regional content company has made a full-scale entry into the early-stage investment market, which has traditionally been centered around the Seoul metropolitan area.
Through the foundation's "Gyeongbuk Cultural Content Production Corporate Support Project" this year, Rehigh successfully completed key projects such as producing drone light show content based on Gyeongju's cultural heritage and advancing its swarm drone design software plugin, thereby earning recognition for both its technological capabilities and business potential.
Immersive content that combines drones and cultural heritage has been evaluated as having significant potential for market expansion, which translated into high marks during the investment stage.
Quantum Ventures Korea decided on a total investment of 2 billion won after comprehensively assessing Rehigh's technological maturity, the scalability of the swarm drone content industry, and the potential for global market entry. This is why it is noted as a representative example of a regional company overcoming investment barriers centered around the capital area through technology.
Industry insiders see this achievement as evidence that regional content companies can sufficiently influence the investment market with their own competitiveness.
In particular, it is significant that the systematic corporate support system built by the foundation over the past decade has provided the foundation for this investment to materialize. The foundation has been strengthening the regional content ecosystem by operating step-by-step corporate growth programs, including production support, R&D, marketing, and networking.
Director Lee Jongsu stated, "Rehigh is a case that demonstrates companies originating from North Gyeongsang Province can compete anywhere, both domestically and internationally," adding, "We will continue to strengthen strategic support so that regional content companies can advance onto the global stage."

Rehigh's successful funding not only proves the growth potential of the regional content industry but also serves as a tangible example of disrupting the investment environment, which has long been entrenched around the capital area. It is expected to become a turning point that will allow more regional startups with technological and content competitiveness to secure greater opportunities.
