Over 200 people, including CEOs and executives of member companies and heads of related organizations, attended the "1st G-CEO Forum and Launch Ceremony" held at Convention Hall 1 on the 3rd floor of the Holiday Inn Hotel in Gwangju on this day.
Prior to the main event, a signing ceremony was held for a mutual cooperation and co-prosperity memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Gwangju Employers Federation and Chosun University to enhance the achievements of the Regional Innovation-led University Support System (RISE).
This agreement was established to drive the growth of companies in Gwangju's key industries and to foster "settlement-type talent"-individuals who are born and raised in the region, find employment at local companies, and settle there.
Under the agreement, the two organizations pledged to cooperate on: ▲ establishing an organic collaboration system and sharing information; ▲ increasing the local employment rate through field training and job placement support; ▲ creating jobs and linking recruitment by utilizing industrial networks; and ▲ jointly planning and operating customized talent development programs based on local industry demand.
Through these efforts, the Gwangju Employers Federation will provide member companies' recruitment information, while Chosun University will operate customized educational programs reflecting this information. This is expected to create a virtuous employment ecosystem that supplies companies with the talent they need in a timely manner.
Gwangju Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education Lee Jeongseon attended the event and delivered congratulatory remarks. Superintendent Lee said, "It is closely aligned with the future that Gwangju education aspires to, for local companies and universities to join hands in nurturing future talent," and added, "I hope this agreement will serve as a solid foundation for local students to learn, realize their dreams, and settle in Gwangju."
Yang Jinseok, Chairman of the Gwangju Employers Federation, stated, "Companies need talent, and young people need quality jobs. We will actively support this agreement so that it becomes more than just a pledge, but a practical opportunity for local youth to realize their dreams in Gwangju and for companies to grow together with them."
Kim Choonseong, President of Chosun University, said, "The core of the RISE system is the co-growth of the region and the university. Through close cooperation with the Gwangju Employers Federation, we will nurture practical talent welcomed by companies and fulfill our university's responsibility to contribute to the development of local industries."
In the second part of the event, which followed the signing ceremony, Hye-min, principal of the Mind Healing School, gave a special lecture on the theme "Bringing Joy Back into Life."
