Pastor Jeon Kwanghoon Reappears Before Police Over Alleged Role in Western District Court Riot
Jeon Kwanghoon, pastor of Sarang Jeil Church, who has been identified as the mastermind behind the Seoul Western District Court riot, has appeared before the police again.
The Security Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency plans to question Pastor Jeon as a suspect at 2 p.m. on November 21 on charges including incitement to break into a special building and incitement to obstruct official duties.
Pastor Jeon arrived at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's annex building in Ogin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, at around 1 p.m. He avoided the press by heading into the premises while remaining in his vehicle.
On November 18, Pastor Jeon had previously left after about two hours of police questioning, citing a chronic illness as the reason for his departure.
Just before his first appearance, he told reporters, "The Western District Court incident has nothing to do with us," completely denying the charges.
