First, 72.3 billion won has been allocated to the local economy sector. This includes projects to boost regional consumption and revitalize commercial districts, such as expanding the issuance of Namyangju Love Gift Certificates, fostering and financially supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and supporting agriculture and fisheries.
Approximately 1.0993 trillion won, similar to this year, will be invested in the social welfare and health sectors.
The city plans to strengthen inclusive welfare services for the socially vulnerable, including women, children, infants, seniors, and people with disabilities, through initiatives such as the nation’s first municipal elementary care center, Sangsangnuriteo.
For transportation infrastructure improvements, 193.2 billion won has been allocated.
Key items include the operation of the Jinjeop Line and Byeollae Line (34.9 billion won), road environment improvements (37.3 billion won), and support for the public management system for buses (27.7 billion won), with a focus on enhancing citizens’ mobility and the quality of transportation services.
In the field of urban development and maintenance, 68.4 billion won has been allocated, centering on projects such as the creation of a hydrogen city and urban regeneration in Hwado-eup and Geumgok-dong to revitalize old downtown areas and establish new growth foundations.
For culture and sports, 83.3 billion won will be invested. The city plans to expand the foundation for everyday cultural and leisure activities for citizens by building the Pyeongnae Sports and Culture Center, the Onam Complex Culture Center, creating the Fun Ground (a youth facility), and fostering the sports industry.
The safety sector budget is set at 122.7 billion won, aiming to strengthen systems for responding to natural and social disasters. In addition, the city will add 2 billion won to the new city hall construction fund, targeting a total of 125 billion won by the end of 2026.
Mayor Ju Gwangdeok stated, "This budget plan focuses on stabilizing livelihoods and strengthening urban competitiveness, with a clear emphasis on solidifying the foundation for future growth," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that our fiscal policies serve as a catalyst for change and growth that citizens can truly feel."
