Sejong City Council Electoral District Delimitation Committee Begins Full-Scale Activities Ahead of Next Year’s Local Elections
Eleven Members Appointed from Academia, Legal Circles, and Other Fields
Prior to the 9th nationwide local elections scheduled for June next year, members of the Sejong City Council Electoral District Delimitation Committee have been appointed.
According to Sejong City on November 20, the Electoral District Delimitation Committee was formed in accordance with the Public Official Election Act ahead of the 9th nationwide local elections to be held on June 3 next year. The committee consists of 11 members who were recommended and selected from various fields, including academia, the legal profession, and civic organizations. They are tasked with determining the names and jurisdictions of each local electoral district.
On this day, Mayor Choi presented the letters of appointment to the committee members and called for transparent electoral district delimitation, stating, "I hope that the electoral district boundaries will be drawn fairly and impartially, without favoring any particular party, region, or candidate."
