Muju County to Support Young Farmers with "Settlement Fund"
Applications open until December 11
Up to 1.1 million won for three years
Muju County in North Jeolla Province is launching the "Youth Farmer Settlement Support Program" to help young farmers establish stable agricultural operations.
According to the county on November 20, the program is designed to provide up to 1.1 million won per year for a maximum of three years to young farmers whose agricultural income is unstable in the early stages of their careers.
Eligible applicants are county residents aged 18 to 39 (born between 1985 and 2008) who actually reside in Muju County and have been engaged in farming for three years or less (based on registration as a farm business owner).
Applications can be submitted through the Agricultural Project Information System until December 11. Following a document review, interview, and recommendation process, the settlement support funds are scheduled to be distributed starting in February next year.
An official from the Muju County Agricultural Technology Center stated, "We expect this program will encourage talented young people to enter the agricultural sector and help alleviate rural aging. We will do our utmost to promote and operate the program so that young farmers can overcome the challenges of early settlement and continue stable farming lives."
