KT Expands Free USIM Replacement to Entire Seoul Metropolitan Area and Gangwon Province Starting November 19
KT announced that, starting from November 19, it will expand the coverage of its free USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module) replacement service-which was introduced to address concerns about unauthorized micro-payments and the misuse of personal information-to include the entire Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province.
KT has been gradually expanding the regions eligible for replacement since the initial rollout on November 5, which covered eight districts in Seoul, ten cities in Gyeonggi Province, and all of Incheon. For customers who are unable to visit a retail store, USIM delivery by courier is also available.
Customers can reserve a USIM replacement in advance through KT.com or the dedicated USIM replacement center and then complete the process at a retail store. Those who apply for self-replacement will receive the USIM by courier and can follow the replacement instructions provided on KT.com.
Starting from November 19, when the second phase of the regional expansion begins, KT will post informational posters about the "USIM Free Replacement Support Stores" in stores across the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Province, and will also strengthen customer service guidelines for store staff.
