Gwangju Sanjeong Public Housing District Launches Public-Private-Public Council
A public-private-public council, involving Gwangju City, the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, and resident representatives, has been launched for the Gwangju Sanjeong Public Housing District project.
On the 18th, Gwangju City held a launch ceremony for the council at the Business Room of City Hall. The council is composed of one representative from Gwangju City, four from the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, and five resident representatives. Gwangju City is calling for an increase in the proportion of public housing, citing an expected shortfall of approximately 28,000 public housing units in the region by 2030. In October, Mayor Kang Gijung requested Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Yoonduk to ensure that the Korea Land and Housing Corporation develops the Sanjeong District as 100% public housing without any private sales.
