Disaster Crisis Alert for Administrative Information Systems Downgraded to "Attention"... Response System Transitioned
Transition from Headquarters to Response Team
"Full Efforts for Restoration at Daegu Center"
The disaster crisis alert level for administrative information systems, which was raised due to the fire at the National Information Resources Service, has been downgraded from "Caution" to "Attention."
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety held the second meeting of the "Crisis Response Headquarters for the National Information Resources Fire" at 3:00 p.m. on November 18, reviewed the status and plans for information system restoration, and discussed measures to downgrade the crisis alert level and transition the response system.
The government decided to lower the crisis alert from "Caution" to "Attention," taking into account the fact that the systems at the Daejeon Center were restored ahead of the originally planned date of November 20, the criteria for issuing the alert, and the alleviation of public inconvenience.
Accordingly, the response system will be transitioned from the "Crisis Response Headquarters," led by the Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, to the "Crisis Response Team," headed by the Director General of the Digital Government Policy Bureau.
As of 2:00 p.m. on November 18, 696 out of a total of 709 systems at the Daejeon Center have been restored, resulting in a restoration rate of 98.2%. The remaining 13 systems are being transferred to the Daegu Center, where restoration work is underway.
Going forward, the government plans to focus its efforts on completing the restoration of the systems transferred to Daegu, closely monitoring the process through the response team and responding immediately to any issues that may arise to ensure stable completion.
The systems transferred to the Daegu Center require individual management, as each system may need application modifications due to the migration to the cloud. Additionally, some systems, such as the National Fire Agency's "Integrated Fire Equipment Management System," are undergoing simultaneous storage restoration due to dust damage. Currently, specialized personnel from the National Forensic Service forensic team and storage equipment manufacturers are engaged in detailed restoration work.
