The Coastal Safety Accident Risk Forecast System is a policy established under the "Coastal Accident Safety Management Regulations" to inform the public of potential risks and prevent accidents at dangerous locations or zones along the coast, such as piers, during specific periods when adverse weather or natural disasters are expected to increase the risk of safety incidents.
The system consists of three levels: "Attention," "Caution," and "Warning." The "Caution" level is issued when there is a high risk of safety accidents or when the spread of damage is a concern.
This "Caution" alert will cover eight areas: Mokpo City, as well as the counties of Shinan, Muan, Yeonggwang, Hampyeong, Haenam, Jindo, and Yeongam.
During the alert period, the Coast Guard will strengthen sea and land patrols, focusing on coastal low-lying danger zones such as coastal waters, ports, harbors, and rocky shores. In addition, the Coast Guard plans to make every effort to prevent coastal safety accidents through public awareness and safety guidance activities, utilizing local government resources, police station electronic displays, and public announcements.
