Pyeongtaek City Holds Memorial Ceremony for South Africa's Participation in the Korean War

View original imageThis memorial ceremony was organized to honor the noble sacrifice of the 37 South African Air Force soldiers who lost their lives in a distant and unfamiliar land during the Korean War, and to further strengthen the friendly relationship between the two countries.
The event was attended by approximately 150 people, including Jeong Jangseon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek; Sindiswa Ntombovuyo Mququ, Ambassador of South Africa to Korea; Kim Dugun, Chairman of the UN Korean War Allies Association; Park Junghwan, Chief of Staff of the Air Force Missile Defense Command; heads of veterans and security organizations; Korean War veterans; and members of veterans' associations.
In her memorial address, Ambassador Mququ stated, "This ceremony demonstrates the vision of South Africa's foreign policy, which seeks world peace and justice," and added, "South Africa will continue to play every possible international role for peace and prosperity."
