The city announced that the "2025 Gwangju-Jeonnam-Jeju Startup Integrated IR Camp" was held with great success at the Mokpo Gourmet Culture Gallery Haegwan1897 from November 11 to 12, 2025.
This event was co-hosted and organized by eight institutions, including the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, Korea Venture Investment Corp., the Gwangju-Jeonnam-Jeju Centers for Creative Economy and Innovation, Suncheon National University, Jeju National University, and the Gwangju Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency. Its aim was to strengthen the investment attraction capabilities of promising local startups and provide practical growth opportunities through customized matching between investors and companies.
In particular, this IR camp is considered the first tangible result of the "Local Revitalization Win-Win Sisterhood" agreement signed by Mokpo City, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and Korea Venture Investment Corp. in September. It presented a new model for cooperation between central agencies and local governments.
The event took place at the historic and cultural venue Haegwan1897, with local companies participating in all aspects of operation, including souvenir production and catering, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
This camp brought together 44 local startups and over 30 investment firms, including venture capital and accelerator companies from both the Seoul metropolitan area and local regions. The program included 1:1 investment consultations (Meet-Up), an IR competition, and investment lectures, all designed to create practical investment connection opportunities.
The city expects this initiative to invigorate the local startup and investment ecosystem and generate positive ripple effects throughout the regional economy.
