Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) announced that the 5th Gyeongsan Mayor's Cup Soccer Tournament for International Students will be held on November 14 at the Daesin University sports field.


This tournament, hosted by Daesin University (President Choi Daehae) and sponsored by Gyeongsan City, will feature the participation of approximately 250 international students from six universities in the region, including Daesin University, Daegu Haany University, and Yeungnam University.

The organizers expect this soccer tournament to serve as a platform for building a global community and fostering mutual understanding of cultural differences.


International students from various countries around the world, including Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and Nepal, will compete as representatives of their respective university teams in preliminary rounds, semifinals, and the final match. In addition, a variety of side events such as a Korean language OX quiz and an international student singing contest are planned, making the tournament even more diverse and engaging.


Choi Daehae, President of Daesin University, stated, "I hope this tournament will provide an opportunity for international students to communicate and collaborate through sports, and to gain a deeper understanding of Korean culture."


Cho Hyunil, Mayor of Gyeongsan City, said, "I hope this event will bring together international students of various nationalities to build friendships and help Gyeongsan City grow as a global cultural city. We will continue to support international students so they can create more memories and experiences in Gyeongsan."
