Doosan Reports Q3 Operating Profit of 231.3 Billion Won, Up 109% Year-on-Year
"Strong Semiconductor Market Drives Improved Performance in Core Businesses"
Doosan Corporation announced on November 10 that, based on its consolidated financial statements for the third quarter of this year, it recorded sales of 4.4524 trillion won and operating profit of 231.3 billion won. Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 14.8% and operating profit surged by 109.9%.
Doosan explained, "The significant year-on-year profit growth was driven by improved performance in Doosan Corporation's own businesses, supported by the strong semiconductor market, as well as the base effect from major subsidiaries compared to last year."
In the third quarter, Doosan Corporation's own businesses achieved sales of 524.1 billion won and operating profit of 108.7 billion won, representing growth of 59.8% and 211.5%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. In particular, the Electronics Business Group (BG) achieved cumulative sales of 1.319 trillion won for the third quarter, up 96% year-on-year, driven by increased demand for copper-clad laminates (CCL) used in AI accelerators and high-end memory semiconductors, as well as next-generation materials for data centers.
Earlier, on November 5, Doosan Enerbility announced that it recorded consolidated sales of 3.8804 trillion won and operating profit of 137.1 billion won for the third quarter. These figures represent increases of 14.3% and 19.4%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. New orders in the quarter alone amounted to approximately 1.6 trillion won, and cumulative orders through the third quarter reached 5.3903 trillion won, a 69.8% increase year-on-year. Accordingly, the annual order guidance was raised from the previous 10.7 trillion won to 13-14 trillion won. In the fourth quarter, the company aims to secure contracts for the supply of main equipment for two Czech nuclear power plants and additional gas turbine orders.

Doosan Bobcat announced on October 30 that it recorded third-quarter sales of 2.1152 trillion won and operating profit of 133.6 billion won. Due to the base effect from last year and recovering demand in the North American and European markets, sales increased by 19% and operating profit by 6.3% compared to the same period last year. Notably, North American sales grew by 17% year-on-year in dollar terms, while the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) market also expanded by 16%, continuing its recovery trend.
