Commemorating the Opening of the Smart Suncheon Livestock Market
Selection of Superior Hanwoo and Distribution of High-Quality Cattle
Suncheon City announced that the 41st Jeollanam-do Premier Hanwoo Competition, held at the Suncheon-Gwangyang Livestock Cooperative livestock market on November 6, concluded successfully.
This event was organized to assess the genetic capabilities of Hanwoo cattle in the Jeollanam-do region, measure the results of breeding improvements, and distribute superior Hanwoo cattle to local livestock farms in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the Hanwoo industry.
In particular, the city promoted this competition to commemorate the opening of the newly modernized and smart Suncheon Livestock Market, which was completed through a modernization project last year.
The competition featured a fierce contest among 85 high-quality Hanwoo cattle selected from 22 cities and counties in the province, as well as 28 premium beef cattle that had passed a quality evaluation in September.
As a result, Suncheon City demonstrated the excellence of its Hanwoo cattle by winning the Encouragement Award (Seo Gilwon from Hwangjeon-myeon) and the Effort Award (Shin Chowoo from Nakan-myeon) in the superior Hanwoo category.
