Busan Regional Veterans Office Presents Award to Family of Late Independence Activist Kim Deoksun
"We Will Honor the Achievements of Independence Activists to the End"
The Busan Regional Veterans Office of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (headed by Lee Namil) presented a government award to the bereaved family of the late independence activist Kim Deoksun on November 6.
The late Kim Deoksun was arrested in June or July 1930 while studying as a fourth-year student at Ewha Girls' High School and participating in a reading club for the study of new ideas in the Seoul and Masan areas of Gyeongnam Province.
The government recognized Kim for her anti-Japanese spirit and distinguished service, honoring her as an independence activist.

Lee Namil, Head of the Busan Regional Veterans Office, stated, "The sacrifices and dedication of independence activists are the driving force behind today's Republic of Korea," adding, "We will do our utmost to honor the distinguished service of the activists and their families and to promote their achievements."
