Exploring Preservation and Management Plans for Twenty-Six Heritage Sites
The Cultural Heritage Administration and Assemblyman Park Soo-hyun will hold the "Baekje Royal Capital Core Heritage Policy Research Forum" at 1:00 p.m. on November 6 at the Goma Center in Gongju.
The core heritage sites of the Baekje royal capital refer collectively to twenty-six palaces, royal tombs, temples, and fortresses in Gongju, Buyeo, and Iksan, including Gongsanseong Fortress, Busosanseong Fortress, and Mireuksaji Temple Site.
This forum, which began in 2021, has discussed topics such as historical verification for restoration, maintenance and utilization plans, and digital documentation of the heritage sites.
The main agenda item this year is the "Special Act on the Preservation and Management of Core Heritage Sites of the Baekje Royal Capital," which Assemblyman Park sponsored in October.
Researcher Son Hyun from the Korea Legislation Research Institute will review and analyze the components of the special act; Noh Gi-hwan, policy researcher at On Culture Heritage, will present the necessity of enacting the law; and Professor Sung Jeong-yong of Chungbuk National University will discuss the role of the preservation and management project team. An expert discussion moderated by Advisory Committee Member Bae Byung-sun will follow.
