SK announced on the 5th that the "SK AI Summit 2025," the artificial intelligence (AI) event of SK Group, concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from approximately 35,000 on- and offline attendees. This year, the summit evolved into a "global AI platform," with a significantly more diverse group of companies and experts from various countries taking part.

View original imageHeld at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, over two days from November 3 to 4, the summit was themed "AI Now & Next," diagnosing the current state of AI and exploring its future. The event began with a keynote speech by Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group, followed by presentations from Ben Mann, Co-founder of Anthropic; Tim Costa, Head of Semiconductor Engineering at Nvidia; and Shin Ji-na, CEO of Kakao, each outlining the future direction of the AI industry.
Chairman Chey proposed "efficiency competition" as a solution to meet the explosive demand for AI, announcing plans for ▲expanding memory semiconductor production, ▲building AI infrastructure, and ▲actively utilizing AI strategies. He also emphasized, "AI cannot advance alone; it must develop together with partners."
Global big tech leaders driving the AI industry, such as Andy Jassy, CEO of Amazon, and Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, also delivered direct messages, highlighting Korea's AI competitiveness.
This year's summit featured sessions on topics spanning the entire industry, including sovereign AI, agentic AI, and manufacturing AI. Each session shared real-world AI application cases and technical insights, while discussions continued on concrete roadmaps and directions for collaboration in industry-specific AI transformation. Expert lectures in AI fields such as computing, infrastructure, semiconductors, software, healthcare, distribution, and energy, presented by domestic and international companies including LG AI Research Institute, Krafton, Shinsegae I&C, Nvidia, and Schneider Electric, also received a strong response.

There was also significant interest in the latest AI technology trends shared by SK Group members, including SK Telecom's AI data center operation capabilities, the "AI-Radio Access Network (RAN)" core technology for 6th generation (6G) mobile communications being developed with Nvidia, and SK hynix's memory semiconductor technology supporting AI infrastructure.
