Gyeonggi Office of Education Excels in National Policy Implementation, Rated "Top Excellence" by Ministry of Education
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education received the "Top Excellence" rating in the "2025 National Policy Implementation Performance Evaluation for Provincial and Metropolitan Offices of Education" organized by the Ministry of Education.
Accordingly, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will receive a total of 825 million won in financial support (incentives): 500 million won for being selected as the top office in the quantitative evaluation, and 325 million won for being chosen as an exemplary case in the qualitative evaluation.
The office assessed this achievement as a "milestone" accomplished three years after Superintendent Lim Taehee took office, overcoming the stigma of being ranked the lowest among all education offices nationwide in 2022.
In this evaluation, the office achieved results exceeding the national average in 11 quantitative indicators, including the establishment of a digital-based educational environment, enhancement of digital competencies, and strengthening support for academic achievement.
Park Joohyung, Chair of the Policy Advisory Committee at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education and professor at Gyeongin National University of Education, stated, "This evaluation result proves that Gyeonggi education is leading all areas of education in Korea, going beyond simple indicator management."
Lim Taehee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Education, said, "This achievement is a proud result created together by faculty, students, and parents in the field," adding, "As the standard for education in Korea, Gyeonggi Education will break down outdated educational frameworks, expand the role and responsibility of public education, and focus even more on the essence of education by supporting the growth of every student through Gyeonggi Future Education."
