Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Announces President's Emergency Directive
Choi Hwi-young, the government spokesperson and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, announced on November 3 that the President had issued an emergency directive to halt all government asset sales.
Minister Choi stated, "President Lee Jae-myung has ordered a complete suspension of government asset sales and instructed all ministries to conduct a thorough re-examination of all ongoing and planned asset sales, after which a decision will be made on whether to proceed."

He added, "In principle, asset sales should be refrained from except for unnecessary assets. However, in cases where asset sales are unavoidable, prior approval from the Prime Minister must be obtained."
