'2025 Turn Toward Busan' to Be Held in Busan: "We Will Not Forget the Sacrifices of UN Veterans"
National United Prayer Association for Love of Country Holds Memorial Event
The global memorial event "Turn Toward Busan," which honors the sacrifices of United Nations veterans of the Korean War, will be held again this year in Busan.
The National Prayer Association for Love of Country (led by Chairman Na Youngsoo, hereafter referred to as the Association) announced on November 2 that it will hold the "2025 Turn Toward Busan (THANK YOU UN! THANK YOU USA!)" commemorative event at 2 p.m. on November 11 at the UN Peace Memorial Hall in Nam-gu, Busan.
"Turn Toward Busan" is an international memorial event in which people around the world express their gratitude and observe a moment of silence toward Busan, home to the world's only United Nations Memorial Cemetery.
Every year at 11 a.m. on November 11, the event has continued to remember the United Nations veterans who sacrificed for the freedom and peace of the Republic of Korea during the Korean War.
Sixteen United Nations member states, including the United States, participated in the Korean War by sending combat troops.
This year’s event will begin with a wreath-laying ceremony at the UN Peace Park, followed by a commemorative worship service, a gratitude ceremony, and a presentation of support funds to the descendants of veterans.
The Association plans to use this memorial as an opportunity for the religious community, civil society, and the next generation to come together and share the values of freedom and peace.
A representative of the Association emphasized, "The noble sacrifices of the United Nations veterans built today’s Republic of Korea. It is our mission to express gratitude for the sacrifices of the international community and to pass on the values of freedom and the responsibility for peace to future generations."
