President Lee Jaemyung will attend a luncheon and participate in a dialogue with the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), an official event of the APEC Summit in Gyeongju, on October 31, according to the presidential office.
ABAC, a private advisory body established in 1995, has annually conveyed the views of business leaders to APEC leaders and listened to their perspectives on economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region through dialogues with APEC leaders.
This event will be attended by APEC member leaders, including Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, and Chilean President Gabriel Boric, as well as approximately 60 ABAC members. The program will consist of a plenary session involving all APEC leaders and ABAC members, as well as ten separate small group meetings.
During the plenary session, President Lee will call for the cooperation of ABAC members for the advancement of APEC and emphasize the need for public-private partnerships. Following this, ABAC Chair Lee Kyooho will deliver recommendations to the APEC member leaders.
