Dongjak District's New CI Wins 'Blue Award' at Korea Color Awards
Recognized for Excellence in Color Design
The newly designed emblem (CI) of Dongjak District in Seoul (Mayor Park Ilha) has received the Blue (Value) Award at the 23rd Korea Color Awards. This award, organized by the Korean Society of Color Studies under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, is the only color-related award in Korea and is presented to outstanding cases that have contributed to the advancement and elevation of color culture.
Dongjak District reported that the new CI, unveiled to commemorate the opening of its new government building for the first time in 45 years, received high marks in the design and visual manual categories.
The new CI modernizes the shape of Dongjak District's administrative boundaries and the traditional roofline of the Memorial Gate at the Seoul National Cemetery. The green at the top symbolizes the district's rich natural environment and sustainable future transformation, while the image of the foundation stone and bedrock at the bottom represents the determination to prepare for a new leap forward based on a solid historical foundation.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 8 at the 'Moiso Gallery' in Design House, Jung-gu, Seoul. The winning works will be exhibited at the gallery from November 7 to 8, and will also be released through the website and social media channels of the Korean Society of Color Studies.
