Asian Productivity Organization Member Countries’ Productivity Organization Representatives Meeting Held in Seoul
Korea Productivity Center Co-hosts with Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy
The Korea Productivity Center (KPC) announced that, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, it will host the 66th Workshop Meeting (WSM) of representatives from national productivity organizations of member countries of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) at The Plaza Hotel Seoul over three days from October 28 to 30.
The APO is an intergovernmental international organization that aims to enhance productivity and promote sustainable economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region. It was established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1961, with Korea as a founding member. This is the first time in eight years since 2017 that the annual WSM, held in the second half of each year, is being hosted in Korea.

The main agenda centers on the APO Vision 2030 strategy and implementation plan. The APO will officially announce its new vision for the first time, presenting a new growth paradigm for the Asia-Pacific region and marking a significant turning point in APO’s history.
To this end, cases of member country operations from other international organizations such as the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will be shared. Based on these examples, member countries will discuss ways to advance the APO’s global operational framework together. The core of APO Vision 2030 is the structural transformation in which the initiative for productivity improvement shifts from the APO Secretariat to the member countries. In the past, member countries participated in programs planned by the APO Secretariat. Now, each member country will design and implement its own productivity improvement strategies.
The APO Secretariat will be transformed into a performance-oriented cooperation platform that supports and manages these member-driven initiatives to ensure they lead to tangible results. Through this, each APO member country will be able to lead customized productivity innovation aligned with its own national development strategies.
