Busanjin-Hae Economic Free Zone Authority and Gangseo District Public Health Center Conduct Joint Inspection of Medical Narcotics
The Busanjin-Hae Economic Free Zone Authority (headed by Park Seongho) announced that, in collaboration with the Gangseo District Public Health Center, it will conduct a focused joint inspection of 16 locations within the zone-including medical institutions, pharmacies, veterinary clinics, and pharmaceutical wholesalers-from October 28 to November 14.
This inspection aims to prevent the illegal distribution and misuse of medical narcotics such as diazepam and zolpidem, and to review the overall pharmaceutical management practices of healthcare institutions within the zone.
By working together, the Free Zone Authority and the Gangseo District Public Health Center plan to comprehensively assess the safety management standards not only for narcotics but also for pharmaceuticals in general.
Inspection targets were selected based on big data analysis from the Narcotics Information Management System (NIMS) operated by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Key inspection items include: ▲ the appropriateness of reporting the purchase, transfer, receipt, and disposal of narcotics; ▲ the safety management and installation of locking devices in storage facilities; ▲ compliance with the prohibition on selling expired, deteriorated, or contaminated narcotics; ▲ the status of records and preservation of management ledgers; and ▲ adherence to standards for pharmaceutical quality, distribution, and storage.
The Free Zone Authority will continue to work with the Gangseo District Public Health Center to regularly monitor the safety management standards of narcotics-handling businesses such as medical institutions, pharmacies, and wholesalers, with the goal of creating a safe and reassuring healthcare environment for residents.
