Jeongeup City, North Jeolla Province, announced on October 28 that it will host a lecture by author Son Bomi at the Jeongeup Shintaein Library on November 8.
In this lecture, Son Bomi will speak on the theme "The Sentences That Made Me," sharing with local readers the works and sentences that influenced her journey to becoming a novelist.
Son Bomi made her literary debut in 2009 when her work "Silence" was selected by 21st Century Literature, and in 2011, her story "Blanket" was chosen in the Dong-A Ilbo New Year's Literary Contest. Since then, she has received recognition for her talent by consecutively winning Korea’s representative literary awards, including the Young Writers Award, Daesan Literary Award, Lee Hyo-seok Literary Award, and Yi Sang Literary Award. She has consistently published numerous works, including her most recent book "Safe City" (2025), as well as "Dream of Love" (2023) and "Small Town" (2020).
An official from Shintaein Library stated, "This year, we have organized meetings with a variety of authors, including novelists Kim Sum and Jeong Bora, and psychiatrist Moon Yohan. We hope that these opportunities to meet authors of literary works that offer comfort in daily life will spark interest in books and writing, and encourage greater engagement with local libraries."
