Celltrion Launches Wildlife Bird Protection Activities in Incheon

Transparent soundproof walls are known structures that frequently cause bird collisions due to birds' lack of awareness, and this initiative was carried out as a practical protective measure to mitigate bird casualties.
Bird collision prevention stickers are safety devices that significantly reduce the collision rate of wild birds. In Korea, millions of wild birds suffer damage every year from collisions with artificial structures such as transparent soundproof walls and glass building facades. According to the Ministry of Environment's "Guidelines for Reducing Bird Collisions with Transparent Windows," patterned intervals on structures help birds recognize artificial obstacles, resulting in a high collision prevention effect.
This wildlife bird protection activity was conducted for the second time following last year, and the area covered with stickers was expanded from approximately 400 square meters last year to about 1,100 square meters this year. Celltrion plans to continue working with Incheon Green Union to regularly monitor the sites after sticker installation, checking and supplementing the effectiveness of the measures.
Celltrion has been consistently engaging in biodiversity protection activities in connection with the local community, actively practicing ESG management. Last year, the company joined the "Business and Biodiversity Platform (BNBP)" initiative, which supports strengthening corporate biodiversity response capabilities, sharing the results of its biodiversity conservation activities and actively promoting efforts to preserve natural capital to stakeholders. Celltrion plans to continue advancing various ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activities for the protection of local ecosystems as part of its commitment to sustainable management.
