Police to Question Former KCC Chair Lee Jinsook for Third Time Today
The police will conduct a third round of questioning on October 27 regarding Lee Jinsook, the former Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission, who is under suspicion of violating the Public Official Election Act and the National Public Service Act.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that Lee Jinsook has been summoned as a suspect and will be questioned at 1 p.m. on this day.
This investigation comes 23 days after Lee Jinsook was released by court order following a detention review, having been arrested on a warrant on October 2 and detained for two days. She had previously been questioned twice while in custody.
Lee Jinsook is accused of making politically biased remarks or engaging in preliminary election campaigning through conservative-leaning YouTube and Facebook accounts between September and October of last year, as well as March and April of this year.
At the time, Lee Jinsook made statements such as, "The Democratic Party or leftist groups are organizations that do everything imaginable," and, "I am grateful for the female warriors of the conservatives; we need warriors to fight against the fake leftists."
