GH Launches First Public-Private Partnership Community Pilot at Namyangju Happy Housing
Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH) will launch a pilot project for "Gyeonggi Unity" at Dasan Jigeum A5 Happy Housing in Namyangju this December, aiming to enhance residential satisfaction in public housing and restore the sense of community.
Unity is the nation’s first public-private partnership community model for public housing, where a private operator with expertise utilizes unused public housing spaces to provide services such as childcare and health classes for seniors.
Dasan Jigeum A5 Happy Housing in Namyangju, the site of the project, began accepting residents in June 2022. Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation are creating a community space in the complex’s unused area (neighborhood living facilities) covering 965 square meters across the first and second floors, with the official opening scheduled for December.

Gyeonggi Province expects that this project will increase the actual utilization of community facilities, promote interaction among residents, expand communication with the local community, foster integration across generations including children and seniors, and ultimately help restore the local community and improve quality of life.
