Oulsup Park has long faced demands for improvement from residents due to aging facilities and monotonous spatial design. The district plans to gradually renovate outdated facilities while transforming the park into a new cultural hub for the community through the creation of this cultural rest area. In particular, as the Singil New Town area has seen its population more than double and its demographic composition diversify due to redevelopment, the new facility is expected to meet the cultural and leisure needs of local residents.
Under the agreement, the district will provide administrative and policy support for the project, while Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance will sponsor the project costs. Root Impact will handle project planning, and Elephant Factory will be responsible for the overall creation and management of the space, including design, construction, and program operations.
The 'Oulsup Cultural Rest Area × I-Maum Playground' will be developed as an open cultural facility featuring a small library, community room, experiential exhibition space, and relaxation areas. In addition, nature-friendly programs such as making companion plants and garden one-day classes will be offered, allowing residents to enjoy both relaxation and culture within nature.
With the signing of this agreement, the participating organizations will establish a cooperative framework and begin full-scale project implementation. Construction is scheduled to begin next year.
