Dongducheon City Expands Childcare Subsidy for Foreign Children to 150,000 Won per Month... A Step Toward an Inclusive Childcare Environment
Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyungdeok) announced on October 24 that, starting from October 2025, it has increased the childcare subsidy for children of foreign nationals from the previous 100,000 won per month to 150,000 won per month.
This increase is aimed at alleviating the childcare burden for foreign families and ensuring that foreign children can access childcare services without discrimination.
The recipients of this program, which is funded jointly by the city and the province, are children whose guardian (one person) and the child have both resided in Dongducheon City for at least 90 days and who are currently enrolled in a local daycare center. Applications can be made through the respective daycare centers.
