OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to Skip Gyeongju APEC CEO Summit
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, will not attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit, which will be held in Gyeongju from October 28 to 31.
OpenAI announced on the 24th that CEO Altman will not be participating in this year's APEC CEO Summit. It has been reported that Altman does not plan to visit South Korea during the APEC period.

View original imageAltman visited South Korea relatively recently, on the 1st of this month, where he met with President Lee Jaemyung, as well as Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jaeyong and SK Group Chairman Chey Taewon. During Altman's visit, OpenAI signed separate DRAM wafer supply agreements with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. He also met with Minister of Science and ICT Baek Kyunghoon and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for South Korean companies to participate in the Stargate Project and other initiatives.

Previously, in February, Altman also visited South Korea to meet individually with Chairman Lee Jaeyong and Chairman Chey Taewon. He also met with Kakao CEO Chung Shina and publicly announced the signing of a strategic partnership with Kakao.
