4-Month-Old Son Left Unattended in Bathtub Falls Unconscious... Mother in Her 30s Urgently Arrested
A woman in her 30s was urgently arrested by the police in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, on suspicion of leaving her four-month-old son unattended in the bathroom bathtub. The infant was transported to the hospital in an unconscious state.
On October 23, the Yeosu Police Station in South Jeolla Province announced that they had urgently arrested and were investigating Ms. A on charges including violation of the Child Welfare Act. Ms. A is suspected of leaving her son, who was unable to support himself, unattended in the bathtub of their home in Yeosu at around 12:30 p.m. the previous day.
It has been reported that Ms. A stated she was watching TV at the time. After discovering her child had fallen into the bathtub, she called emergency services, but the child was transported to the hospital without regaining consciousness.
