Gyeonggi Province Conducts 385 Inspections Through "Safety Prevention Hotline," Up 50% From Last Year
Gyeonggi Province conducted 385 free safety inspections through the "Safety Prevention Hotline (010-3990-7722)" from January to September this year. This represents a 50% increase compared to the same period last year (256 cases) and has already surpassed the total number of inspections conducted throughout the previous year (384 cases).
The Safety Prevention Hotline is a dedicated reporting channel for Gyeonggi Province residents, allowing anyone to request assistance if they discover or feel threatened by potential safety hazards.
This hotline was introduced in November 2022 under the direction of Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dongyeon, following the Itaewon tragedy, as an expansion of the existing citizen safety inspection request system.

Of the 385 cases received this year, 366 were related to facilities, 15 to daily life safety, and 4 to disasters and other issues.
Gyeonggi Province believes that the introduction of advanced equipment such as safety inspection drones, analytical software, and smart glasses, along with expert lectures and seminars, has enhanced the expertise of inspection personnel and increased residents' trust in the inspection results.
