Expectations for Localization of Aircraft Engine Materials

View original imageThe event was attended by more than 100 participants, including Choi Cheoljin, President of the Korea Institute of Materials Science, Yoon Samson, CTO of the Aerospace Division of Hanwha Aerospace, as well as representatives from local governments, research institutes, universities, and defense companies.
The Hanwha-Materials Joint Research Center was established with the goal of localizing key materials such as nickel and titanium, which are highly dependent on imports, and securing core technologies for advanced aircraft engines and both manned and unmanned aerial vehicle engine materials.
The Korea Institute of Materials Science, the nation’s leading materials research institute, and Hanwha Aerospace, a leader in Korea’s defense industry, plan to collaborate in building a continuous and systematic research cooperation platform through joint research, technology collaboration, and personnel exchanges.
