Nighttime and Holiday Care Begins from October 20
Addressing Gaps in Pediatric Medical Services
Jinju City, South Gyeongsang Province, announced on October 22 that it has selected 'Jinju Goryeo Hospital' as the operating institution for 'Jinju Hamo Children's Hospital' in order to address gaps in pediatric care during nighttime and holidays, and held a signboard ceremony to mark the occasion.
The ceremony was attended by Cho Kyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, Moon Yong-gyu, Chairman of Jinju Goryeo Hospital, Moon Byung-wook, Director of Jinju Goryeo Hospital, and other officials. During the event, they shared the purpose of operating 'Jinju Hamo Children's Hospital' and discussed future plans.
'Jinju Goryeo Hospital' has been officially designated and approved as 'Jinju Hamo Children's Hospital' and began full-scale medical services on October 20. The hospital now provides care on weekday evenings (Monday to Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) and during weekends and public holidays (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
The operation of Hamo Children's Hospital is expected to minimize medical service gaps for children, allowing pediatric patients with mild symptoms to receive prompt and appropriate care without having to use the emergency room. This will help reduce citizen inconvenience and medical expenses associated with emergency room visits, and is also anticipated to significantly alleviate emergency room overcrowding.
Cho Kyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, stated, "We have made extensive preparations to ensure that parents raising children can visit the hospital with peace of mind, even during late nights and holidays, through the operation of Hamo Children's Hospital. Starting with nighttime and holiday care, we will do our utmost to make Jinju a city where it is easy to raise children."
