This committee was established to develop effective solutions to odor issues and improve residential conditions for local residents, as complaints about odors from waste treatment facilities (food and medical waste), sewage pipelines, and other sources within the district have been continuously increasing.
The committee consists of five members: Assemblywoman Noh Soyoung was elected as chairperson, Assemblyman Park Yonghwa as vice-chairperson, and Assembly members Hwang Kyunga, Eun Bonghee, and Shin Jonghyuk. The committee will be active until March 31 of next year.
The committee plans to identify the causes of odor through a variety of activities, including collecting relevant data, listening to status reports and conducting Q&A sessions with the executive branch, and gathering residents' opinions through on-site visits to odor-generating facilities. It will then propose prevention measures and alternatives tailored to the local situation.
