"Capturing Warm Smiles of Wildfire Victims on Video"... Gyeongbuk Province Promotes Tourism with 13 YouTubers
Beyond Tourism Promotion, Restoring Daily Life
Full-Scale Activities Begin in Five Areas Including Andong
On October 21, Gyeongbuk Province announced that the "YouTube Gyeongbuk Travel Group Project," which is being promoted to help restore tourism in wildfire-affected areas, has officially launched with the positive participation of YouTubers from across the country.
This project was conceived from the recognition that sustainable regional regeneration is needed, beyond simply recovering the wildfire-affected areas in northern Gyeongbuk. The initiative aims to expand tourism from a mere act of consumption to a practical means of supporting local communities.

These creators are capturing the attractions and unique tourism resources of each region from their own perspectives, bringing new energy to communities that have been stagnant due to the disaster. The video content they produce is expected to not only stimulate tourism demand and revitalize the local economy, but also help restore residents' sense of pride.
Gyeongbuk Province recently released the activities of the 13 participating YouTubers through the Boiso TV channel. The YouTubers are walking through the wildfire-affected sites themselves and conducting interviews with local residents, delivering a vivid picture of the current situation as well as messages of hope for a new beginning.
Travel creator A commented, "By experiencing the affected areas firsthand and documenting them on video, I believe I am not just promoting the region, but also encouraging people to visit again." Local experience creator B said, "I captured the warm smiles of the residents I met on site in my videos. I hope this becomes an opportunity for viewers to empathize and visit as well."
Additionally, tourism review creator C shared, "I am proud that through this special journey, YouTuber content can serve as a way to realize public value."
Lim Daeseong, spokesperson for Gyeongbuk Province, emphasized, "The YouTube Gyeongbuk Travel Group Project is a public value realization project aimed at restoring daily life in wildfire-affected areas, going beyond simple tourism promotion. We hope that the creative content of YouTubers nationwide will become a driving force for the region's resurgence."
