Hongcheon County in Gangwon Province (Governor Shin Youngjae) has signaled a positive outlook for expanding into overseas markets by achieving the remarkable feat of selling out all excellent agricultural processed products from local small and medium-sized enterprises early at the 52nd LA Korean Festival, which they attended with the goal of expanding overseas market channels and strengthening export competitiveness.

View original imageAccording to Hongcheon County on October 20, three leading regional agri-food companies, selected through a public offering for the county's export activation support project, participated in the festival, which was held for four days from October 16 to 19 in Koreatown, Los Angeles, United States.
The companies selected through the county's export activation support project were: Byeoltang Hangwa (Vice CEO Lee Sunho), Sanchonmaeul Agricultural Corporation (CEO Kim Jongcheol), and Bambachi Farm (CEO Kim Namguk, Director Kim Seongrae).
The participating companies received a great response from local Korean residents and international consumers with products that highlighted Hongcheon’s pristine natural environment and traditional processing methods.
Byeoltang Hangwa showcased handmade grain snacks using seven types of domestic grains, including perilla, black beans, adlay, pine nuts, barley, and brown rice. Its savory and crispy texture captivated local tastes, and it became the first among all provincial booths to sell out by the third day of the event, gaining popularity as a nutritious snack.
Sanchonmaeul Agricultural Corporation presented "Yakdoraji Cheong," made with three-year-old premium balloon flower root and rice syrup produced in Korea. Known as a health food effective for boosting immunity and relieving cough, this product attracted significant interest from local consumers and sold out on the final day of the event.

With its sweet and tangy flavor, the product was enjoyed by people of all ages and gained great popularity not only among Korean residents but also among international customers.
Thanks to this enthusiastic local response, the participating companies drew attention by selling out all products early for the second consecutive year. In addition, through media interview requests and export consultation meetings with invited buyers, Hongcheon County was able to directly promote its excellent agricultural and processed products, further increasing its potential for overseas market entry.
