Autumn Festival Blending Foliage and Culture: ‘Soyodanpung Cultural Festival’ to Be Held on the 26th

The 37th Soyodanpung Cultural Festival and the 16th Eoyuso General's Procession Reenactment, hosted by the Dongducheon Cultural Center and sponsored by Dongducheon City, will be held at the Soyosan Outdoor Music Hall in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province, starting at 11 a.m. on October 26.

View original imageThis festival, set against the backdrop of Soyosan Mountain's stunning autumn foliage, will offer a variety of attractions including performances blending tradition and modernity, citizen participation programs, environmental campaigns, and a historical reenactment parade, providing visitors with the essence of autumn and a rich cultural experience.
Prior to the main event, the "Soyosan Foliage Plogging Campaign" will take place, inviting citizens to participate in environmental cleanup activities. There will also be a photo certification and hashtag event for participants.
The first part of the festival will feature performances by local cultural and arts organizations, including traditional farmers' music, dance sports, youth performances, and Nanta drumming, adding excitement to the festivities. The following "Eoyuso General's Victory Procession Reenactment Parade" will see actor Lee Jungyong portraying the general, vividly recreating historical scenes. The event will also include the royal land grant ceremony and celebratory dances, among other diverse programs.
The second part, themed "Let the Sound of Autumn Leaves Ring Out!", will begin with an opening video showcasing Dongducheon's history and future, followed by performances by a musical team, a brass band, and a congratulatory stage by singer Park Mikyung.
Additionally, the festival grounds will feature interactive booths such as the "ChatGPT Face Reading Experience Booth," where visitors can have their physiognomy read in late Joseon Dynasty style, and an instant photo studio photo zone, providing more entertainment for attendees.
