The three major stock indexes on the New York Stock Exchange all closed higher.
On October 17 (Eastern Time), at the close of trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished at 46,190.61, up 238.37 points (0.52%) from the previous session.
The Standard & Poor's 500 Index rose by 34.94 points (0.53%) to close at 6,664.01, while the Nasdaq Composite Index gained 117.44 points (0.52%) to finish at 22,679.97.
