Korea Exchange Delivers Donation to Support Medical Expenses for Children with Rare Diseases in Busan
On October 15, Korea Exchange delivered a donation of 110 million won to World Vision (Chairman Myunghwan Cho) to support medical expenses for children from low-income families in Busan with rare diseases.
The donation will be used to cover medical expenses for 10 children with rare diseases who are experiencing financial difficulties due to long-term illness, as well as to purchase assistive devices for 16 children with disabilities.
Since 2019, the nonprofit organization World Vision and Korea Exchange have continued various forms of support for children with rare diseases, including assistance with medical expenses, provision of assistive devices for disabilities, and family camps to promote family unity.
To date, a total of 153 children with rare diseases from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, such as children from single-parent families (epilepsy) and children from low-income families (West syndrome), have received support.
