The city of Ansan in Gyeonggi Province announced on October 14 (local time) that it had signed an agreement to establish a sister city relationship with Paris Est Marne & Bois in France.

View original imageThe signing ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Eastern Administrative District of Paris, was attended by Ansan Mayor Lee Mingeun and the Ansan delegation, as well as Olivier Capitani, chairman of the Eastern Administrative District Council of Paris.
With this agreement, the two cities plan to promote collaborative projects in a variety of fields, including education, culture, the arts, and the economy.
Previously, last year, Julien Veille, vice chairman of the Eastern Administrative District of Paris, visited Ansan and signed a letter of intent for exchange. In May of this year, the Suan Le Company performance troupe from the Eastern Administrative District of Paris participated in the Ansan Street Arts Festival hosted by Ansan City.
Going forward, the two cities plan to expand cultural exchanges through mutual invitations to their respective international street arts festivals and the opening of the Marne & Bois Korea Arts Tourism Center in the Eastern Administrative District of Paris.
Mayor Lee stated, "Going forward, both cities will be able to actively utilize each other's strengths and resources to foster mutual development."
On the same day, the Ansan delegation held an international cooperation meeting at the headquarters of the Eastern Administrative District of Paris and also conducted an investment promotion session (IR) for the Ansan Science Valley (ASV) Free Economic Zone.
The city explained that about 40 participants, including representatives from major French companies and administrative agencies, attended the event and showed great interest in the future growth strategy and global investment environment of ASV.
During the event, Mayor Lee personally presented plans for the creation of an R&D special zone focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced robotics, strategies to attract smart manufacturing and global companies, and plans to expand educational and cultural infrastructure, including the establishment of an international school.
