Smart Integrated Complex Equipped with Advanced and Eco-Friendly Facilities
Taebaek City in Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Sangho) announced on October 15 that it is actively pushing forward with the "Wellness Anti-Aging Industry Specialized Complex Development Project" in the Sabaerigol area of Mungok-dong (San 23-2), with a total project cost of 124.3 billion won.

View original imageThe project aims to foster future growth engines by leveraging Taebaek's mountainous and high-altitude climate along with its pristine natural environment. The complex will cover approximately 430,000 square meters, with an access road extending 1.7 kilometers in length and 10 meters in width.
Taebaek City officially began construction of the complex in March. The site will feature a variety of tourism, leisure, and healthcare facilities, including a Healing Village, Sports Village, Integrated Healthcare Center, Campground, Forest Experience Facility, and Therapy Farm.
In addition, Kangwon Land has also begun construction of a Senior Healthcare Center, with a total project cost of 30.6 billion won, which will include an 80-bed senior care facility and three guesthouses. This project broke ground in June and is being developed concurrently.
The city plans to complete infrastructure works such as bridges and underground utilities by the second half of 2026, aiming for full completion of the complex by the end of 2027 and official operation starting in 2028.
