Ulsan City announced that delegations from its overseas sister and friendship cities will visit Ulsan from October 15 to 18, 2025, to participate in the "2025 Ulsan Industry Festival."
This year's visiting delegation consists of 106 representatives from 13 cities in 8 countries, including Hagi, Niigata, Kumamoto, and Shimonoseki in Japan; Changchun and Wuxi in China; Houston in the United States; Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic; Kocaeli in T?rkiye; Mandalay in Myanmar; Khanh Hoa in Vietnam; and Fergana in Uzbekistan.
This is a significant increase compared to last year, when 76 delegates from 7 cities in 3 countries attended, demonstrating that the Ulsan Industry Festival is establishing itself as a hub for international exchange.
The delegations will arrive on October 15 and attend a welcome reception hosted by Ulsan City. On the evening of October 16, they will watch the "Industry Festival Opening Ceremony" held at the Nam-gu riverside of Taehwagang National Garden.
At the opening ceremony, a special performance by the Kocaeli City military band from T?rkiye will further energize the festival's opening atmosphere.
On October 16, a sister city agreement signing ceremony between Ulsan City and Fergana Province in Uzbekistan will take place, establishing a new international cooperation network.
Through this agreement, the two cities plan to expand exchanges in various fields such as industry, education, and culture, and to strengthen their practical cooperative relationship.
During the visit, the city will also hold one-on-one meetings with four cities at the mayoral level and discuss ways to enhance cooperation and promote joint projects between the cities.
The delegations will tour Ulsan's major industrial sites, including the Hyundai Motor Ulsan Plant and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, as well as key tourist attractions such as Taehwagang National Garden, Daewangam Park, and Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Zone.
In particular, Ulsan City plans to actively promote its historical, cultural, and ecological assets to the visiting delegations, including the Bangudae Petroglyphs, which were inscribed as a World Heritage Site in July 2025, and the upcoming Ulsan International Garden Expo scheduled for 2028.
Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom stated, "I sincerely welcome the delegations from our overseas sister and friendship cities who have traveled a long way to visit Ulsan. This year, with even more cities participating than last year, I truly feel that the Ulsan Industry Festival is developing into an international event."
He added, "I hope you will experience firsthand the charm of Ulsan, where industry and advanced technology coexist with gardens and nature, and I look forward to even greater exchanges and cooperation among our cities as a result of this visit."
