Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises Strengthens Support for Testing and Certification of Export Items in Construction, Lifestyle, and Environment Sectors
Business Agreement Signed with Korea Conformity Laboratories
The Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises is strengthening its support for testing and certification of export items from medium-sized companies in the construction, lifestyle, environment, and advanced industry sectors.
On October 14, the Federation announced that it had signed a "Business Agreement to Enhance Technological Competitiveness of Medium-sized Enterprises and Support Their Global Expansion" with the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL).

View original imageThe two organizations have agreed to strengthen support for medium-sized companies in obtaining overseas certifications, such as by offering a 10% reduction in testing and certification fees for export items in the construction, lifestyle, environment, and advanced industry sectors to member companies of the Federation. They will also collaborate to identify and promote joint projects aimed at enhancing the global competitiveness of medium-sized enterprises.
Established in 2010, KCL is an accredited testing and certification body under the National Institute of Technology and Standards of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It possesses approximately 7,500 pieces of testing equipment and supports research and development (R&D) as well as reliability and safety evaluations. KCL is expanding its research and verification areas beyond construction, lifestyle, and environment to include advanced industries such as aerospace, secondary batteries, and mobility.

Lee Hojun, Executive Vice President of the Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises, stated, "Overwhelming technological competitiveness is the key response to the worsening global trade environment, including mutual and item-specific tariffs imposed by the United States," adding, "As global specialist companies, many medium-sized enterprises will be able to continue growing in the world market. We will do our utmost to communicate closely with the government, the National Assembly, and related organizations to ensure that effective support programs are expanded."
