Advisor Choi served at the Financial Supervisory Service for 29 years, overseeing initial public offerings (IPOs) and insurance company inspections in departments such as the Disclosure Review Office, Insurance Examination Bureau, and Insurance Business Inspection Office. He also led the Asset Management Examination Bureau and Financial Investment Examination Bureau as director, supervising inspections and oversight across the entire financial investment sector, including asset management companies, securities firms, trust companies, and credit rating agencies, establishing himself as a capital markets expert. Notably, he was responsible for leading supervisory practices in major financial incidents such as the Tongyang crisis and the Lime and Optimus fund scandals.
Advisor Choi is expected to generate synergy in the increasingly in-demand financial regulation sector, working alongside Barun Law LLC’s existing team of former Financial Supervisory Service experts.
