Goseong Cultural Foundation Now Accepting First-Come, First-Served Registrations for "Autumn, Art for a Weeknic"
Expanding Everyday Access to Art Through Customized Cultural and Arts Education for Seniors and Adults
Held at Dalhol Cultural Center, Geumgang Nuri Center, and Local Senior Centers
The Goseong Cultural Foundation in Gangwon Province (Chairman: Ham Myungjun) will host the "2025 Autumn, Art for a Weeknic" program from October to November 2025 at various locations throughout Goseong County, including the Dalhol Cultural Center, Geumgang Nuri Center, and Yachon-ri Senior Center.
This program is designed to expand cultural experiences for local residents by providing customized cultural and arts education tailored to different life stages for seniors and adults, and to create an environment where art can be enjoyed in daily life.
"Autumn, Art for a Weeknic" is a continuation of the spring program, which previously targeted infants and children, and now expands its scope to include seniors and adults. In particular, the program has been designed to consider participants’ daily routines, such as improving cultural accessibility for seniors and utilizing evening hours for working adults. Through customized arts education using music, picture books, and natural materials, the program aims to invigorate the local community and lay the foundation for cultural self-reliance.
The program consists of three main offerings: △ "Sing Today" for seniors (ages 65 and over, 15 participants, 4 sessions at Geumgang Nuri Center and Yachon-ri Senior Center), which uses music activities to reduce stress and enhance self-efficacy; △ "Story Box: Embracing Art" for adults (10 participants, 4 sessions at Dalhol Cultural Center’s Culture Maru), which explores various art activities and family-oriented play based on picture books; and △ "Autumn Forest, Atelier," a one-day art workshop using natural materials for working adults (3 sessions).
Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from the 13th to the 24th, and applications can be submitted via the Goseong Cultural Foundation website, social media, banners, and local community promotions. The number of participants varies by program, and all participation fees are fully waived.
