From October 3 to 12, during the golden holiday, the Baekje Cultural Festival attracted around 950,000 visitors, once again proving its status as South Korea's leading historical and cultural festival.
According to Buyeo County on October 13, this year’s Baekje Cultural Festival was held under the theme "Beautiful Baekje, Radiant Sabi," with a variety of events taking place throughout Buyeo.
In particular, at the main venue, the Baekje Cultural Complex, high-quality programs that combined history, culture, and cutting-edge content captivated the eyes and ears of visitors.
Every night, the drone art show featuring 1,100 drones, and the media art performance "Baekje Night Shaped by Light" set against the backdrop of Sabigung Palace, completed the "Baekje Night" by blending ancient and modern sensibilities.
The "Seongwang Banquet" also offered an unforgettable experience for visitors, presenting a multi-sensory program that combined classical music, tango, and local agricultural products from Guteurae under the night view of Sabigung Palace.
Experience programs for families were also popular.
The "YES Kids Zone," a play area focused on children’s activities, was bustling with visitors, while traditional experiences such as crafting gold earring keyrings and dyeing at the "Lifestyle Culture Village" were well-received as cultural spaces connecting generations.
Performance programs also contributed to the festival’s success.
Top Korean singers such as Fromis 9, Paul Kim, Cho Sungmo, Kim Yeonja, Lee Eunmi, and Mushvenom performed on the main stage, fostering intergenerational connection, and the special stage by Japan’s Yamato Taiko Performance Group also drew attention.
Notably, the "Baekje Historical and Cultural Parade," revived after eight years, filled the city with a majestic performance involving over 600 participants. The parade, featuring the royal procession, a military band, and the Baekje flag, vividly recreated the glorious history of Baekje and received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Iconic spots in Buyeo, such as the Baekje Old Bridge floating bridge, LED sailboats, and the Baekmagang riverside lighting, romantically colored the autumn nights and became popular locations for social media photos.
The festival also earned exemplary reviews for its operations.
Even on rainy days, on-site cleaning and safety management were thorough, and parking and shuttle bus services ran smoothly, maximizing visitor convenience.
Governor Park Jeonghyun stated, "The Baekje Cultural Festival is a contemporary festival that revives the world Baekje dreamed of 1,500 years ago, right here in today’s Buyeo," adding, "We will develop it into a cultural festival that draws global attention, based on Baekje’s inclusiveness and pioneering spirit."
