Israel to "Immediately Implement First Phase of 'Trump Peace Initiative'... Will End the War"
Israel has announced its intention to end the war by implementing U.S. President Donald Trump's peace initiative for the Gaza Strip.
On October 4 (local time), the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement saying, "Israel is ready to immediately implement the first phase of President Trump's plan to secure the immediate release of all hostages." The statement continued, "Israel will end the war through full cooperation with President Trump," adding, "This is in accordance with Israel's principles, which align with President Trump's initiative."
However, the Prime Minister's Office did not comment on additional negotiation demands from the Palestinian armed group Hamas.
Earlier, Hamas stated, "In accordance with President Trump's proposal, we will release all hostages, including survivors and remains," and added, "We are ready to immediately enter negotiations through mediators to discuss the details."
